Fondant Making

I made fondant and used it immediately but i could not cover the cake because the fondant keeps tearing. What am I doing wrong? What are the likely reasons why fondant will tear? What is best receipe for fondant making?

You may want to check your recipe but fondant is best kept to mature overnight or I would recommend for at least for about 6hours. This way it matures and is not as fragile as when it is freshly made. Here is our recipe for fondant icing http://mamasdish.com/nigerian-recipes/icings/fondant-icing
